LUCY GARRETT

ATELIER LEAD PRACTITIONER / DEPUTY ROOM LEADER IN THE DEN

I began studying at Bath Spa University back in 2004 with the intention of training to teach at primary school level. However, I became inspired by some Early Years modules and decided to follow this route. I then went on to study for Early Years Professional Status, also at Bath Spa.

I believe that first hand experiences are crucial for young children, and also that having direct contact with nature and outdoor play creates opportunities for children to develop their imaginations and to learn to enjoy the natural world around them.

I personally enjoy being outside, gardening and exploring the local countryside, and I am very excited about the opportunity to explore outdoor learning further whilst at Free Rangers.
